About FFC

What is Fresh Food Connect?

Fresh Food Connect aims to create a more healthy, sustainable, and local food system by creating a market for homegrown food.  

An increasing amount of food is grown in backyards, patios, and community gardens in urban environments across the world - yet there is virtually no market for this food (aside from abandoning an overgrown gourd on your neighbor’s front step.) Fresh Food Connect seeks to give this food the market it deserves, which in turn makes our food systems more local and less wasteful. 

Fresh Food Connect licenses its technology to urban agriculture and food rescue organizations who use the mobile app to coordinate the aggregation of homegrown produce to be donated, sold, or used to otherwise create positive change in the local operator's food system.

Individual gardeners sign up on the Fresh Food Connect app to donate their backyard grown produce that would perhaps otherwise go to waste. Fresh Food Connect conveniently helps solve “the zucchini problem” by picking up produce from the grower’s location when the grower indicates they have food.

How does Fresh Food Connect work?

First, download the app to see if we service your zip code. If we do, when you sign up and add a donation.

You will either be notified that a courier will claim it, pick it up on the day you select, and deliver it to a non-profit, or you will be notified of where you can drop off your produce donation.

How can I participate?

If you are a non-profit, you can sign up to receive local donated produce to help serve your communities. Create an account, and tap ‘I’m a Non-Profit.’

Are you a backyard gardener, small farmer, or community garden who has excess produce to help address food insecurity? Create an account, check “Gardener” in the sign-up process, and you can start donating today!

Want to courier produce between gardeners and Non-Profits? Create an account, check “Courier” in the sign-up process, and you can help us address food insecurity.

The Basics

Sign Up

Download the app here, then tap ‘Create Account.’

Change My Location

In the app, go to Settings, then tap ‘Edit Location.’

Lost password

Tap ‘Forgot Password’ on the main screen of the app.

Report a problem

In the app, go to Settings, then tap ‘Report Problem.’

Change password

Once you log in with your original password, go to Settings, then tap ‘Password Reset’

Request a feature

In the app, go to Settings, then tap ‘Request Feature.’

View my Data

In the app, go to the Info tab.

Delete account

In the app, go to Settings, then tap ‘Delete Account.’

See my History

In the app, go to the History tab.

Data Deletion

If you would like your data removed from the Fresh Food Connect Database, please send an email to with the following information:

  • Name
  • Login email address
  • Zip Code

We undertake to perform the deletion within one month (30 calendar days) and will send you a confirmation once the information has been deleted. Wherever possible, we will aim to complete the request in advance of the deadline.
