Meet a G.N.O.M.E. donating homegrown produce in Missoula, MT

Our Giving GNOMEs may have different approaches to gardening, but they all agree that Growing Nutritious and Outrageously-fresh Meals for Everyone is a meaningful way to give back to their communities. We're highlighting a few of their stories.

1. In 2-3 sentences, tell us a little about you and your garden.

Wandering, wild and serendipitous. We flow with the cycles of seasons and life and do our best with what we are presented with.

2. What motivates you to grow and share your homegrown produce?

Connecting with community members, offering nourishment to those less fortunate, to bring joy from new tastes, smells, and visions to others from my garden.

3. Tell us about your proudest gardening moment.

Creating a therapeutic horticulture vegetable gardening program on a shoestring budget with friends who identify as disabled.

4. What garden tool can you not live without?

Hori-hori knife

5. What piece of advice would you give a beginning gardener?

Each day is an experiment with results that are the most forgiving, and the most motivating to keep trying.

6. Anything else you'd like to share with us or other gardeners?

Gardening is more than bringing food to our mouths and bellies. It’s nourishment for our soul.
